"The Final Twist"
a thriller by Ken Whitmore and Alfed Bradley
Classic thriller packs intrigue and humor into an ingenious plot. An author with writer's block is offered a commission that will meet his debts before he meets the enforcer. An actor with specific needs wants a script. It must feature a theatrically convincing, perfect modus operandi and alibi for the murder of his young wife. She is to remain in the dark so the play will be a surprise. The actor's extreme approach to rehearsal worries the writer, but he is forced to remain silent.

"Some Enchanted evening, The Songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein"
a musical
More so than any composer and lyricist who have written for the stage, the songs of Rodgers & Hammerstein have become an integral part of our everyday lives. We sing them in the shower, we dance to them in ballrooms, we hear them on the radio and in clubs and, yes, in elevators and supermarkets too. We still thrill to them on the live stage in their respective shows, and we teach them to our children. This stunning collection of compositions places five performers in a theatrical setting-first "backstage," where the songs are sung as personal interplay, and then "onstage." While offering the performers an opportunity to explore the songs within their own styles and sensibilities, it offers the audience a glorious parade of genuine hits.
Performances are at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts in Grand Marais
Thu - Sat performances are at 7pm; Sun performance at 2pm

Then head out into the park to see what you can find. Dave will also explain a citizen science project underway to assist in understanding these flying wonders and provide details on how to get involved in upcoming survey trips. Because we know relatively little about dragonfly and damselfly numbers or distribution, many natural resource agencies are beginning to develop species lists and you can be part of the effort!

Performances are at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts in Grand Marais
Thu - Sat performances are at 7pm; Sun performance at 2pm
27 Children's Day
at Split Rock Lighthouse Historical Center
10am-6pm
Tours geared for children highlight this popular event at the lighthouse site. Visitors will hear stories of children who've lived at the light station and can participate in activities including period crafts, art contests, chalk drawing and a foghorn sound-alike contest. There is no charge for children.
