Date: January 1, 2020
Time: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Location: Gooseberry Falls State Park
Start the New Year off on the right foot (and the left) with a two mile round trip winter adventure. We’ll be heading to where the Gooseberry River meets Lake Superior. The Naturalist will guide you along the snowy trail, interpreting the animal signs we find along the way, as well as sharing the rich history of Gooseberry Falls and the surrounding area. Snacks will be available afterward in the Visitor Center.
Bring your own snowshoes or borrow a pair from the park. There are a limited number of adult snowshoes, please call ahead to reserve a pair. Prepare with warm layers, sunglasses and water for the walk.
Route may change based on weather and snow conditions. We do need 6 inches of snow on the ground to snowshoe, if there is a lack of snow, a winter walk will occur. Cleat are recommended for the walk.
This program will be cancelled if the air temperatures are below -10F at the start of the hike.
