Event Description
oin Ojibwe author Thomas Peacock and Ojibwe artist Sam Zimmerman as they discuss their new books and sign copies. Peacock is the author of a dozen books on Ojibwe history and culture, most recently the novel Walking Softly and the children’s picture book The Fire, about the Minnesota fire of 1918.
Zimmerman is a fine art painter with a new coffee table book of paintings and stories titled Following My Spirit Home. His work explores his Ojibwe heritage primarily preserving shared oral histories, reimagining the symbolism of the clan animals while incorporating the natural landscape of Lake Superior’s North Shore.
