Perseid Meteor Shower

August 11, 2021 - August 12, 2021
11:45 pm - 4:45 am

Look to the north sky after midnight until dawn to see this annual meteor shower. Most of the meteors will be just east of due north, between Polaris and Cassiopeia [which appears ‘upside down’ this time of year].

The shower occurs when earth enters a stream of debris from Comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle and begins in mid-July but peaks August 11, 12, and 13, during which time you can expect up to 60 meteors per hours.

Give yourself an hour, allowing time for your eyes to adjust to the darkness.
