Listen to the wise (and funny) words of Sharon McMahon of Three Irish Girls Photography.
She has done a bit of everything. She gets the struggle and the joys of the journey from a-z. Come listen to her zig zag journey and her suggestions on how to both surge and rest along the way!
Sharon was a happy high school teacher. Somehow, knitting found her, and she slowly built Three Irish Girls, a hand dyeing company. As a Yarnista, she traveled extensively to teach workshops at events around the country and wrote a popular knitting blog. In 2013, she sold her yarn company and became a full-time photographer.
“Listen up, doubters. People who wonder every day if your life choices were a mistake, or if you majored in the wrong thing, or if you really should have hopped on that plane to Paris. None of it is a waste. Your years in the cubicle, years in the classroom, years wiping snotty noses, years married to the wrong person, years spent pursuing an unfulfilling career, none of it is wasted.
Instead of viewing your detours as mistakes or regrets, understand that you may have thought you were setting out from point A to destination B when in reality, destination ZYYZ is far more beautiful. And you needed every bit of your life’s education to get you there.”
