Vacation Guide 2017
Summer on the shore is fantastic. The hiking trails are brushed
and cleared, the greens are freshly mowed, the kayaks have
been floated, the bike tires spun, the local fishermen have
brought in fresh trout and herring to the restaurants and the
shops keep re-stocking their shelves. It’s summer on the shore.
Lake Superior acts like a giant cool pool, keeping temps mild
along the shore and up to the ridge tops. Get over the ridges
and you’ve got some nice summer heat. Perfect for swimming
and berry picking and fishing and canoeing and hiking and
picnicking. Speaking of swimming, you are of course, welcome
to jump in the big lake any time you want. Average water temp
42°. Your choice.
It’s your choice to do any of these things or just lollygag along
the shore. Skip stones. Fall asleep in the sun. Be mesmerized
by a flowing river.
Open your book and set it down. Sip a cold one. The amazing
thing is the 16 hours of daylight for you to choose to do
whatever you want to do. I recommend fun.
