Enjoy the scenic beauty of Lake Superior and the surrounding Sawtooth Mountains. Races begin in downtown Grand Marais and end at Voyageur Brewing Company.

Participants will receive a free pint of beer after the race and those who register by June 1st are guaranteed a free t-shirt. Those who register after June 1st may receive a shirt that is not their size or no shirt at all.  Sorry.

Race Details

Registration is open for the 2019 event. The cost of the race for the 5k is $35 until May 9th and $40 May 10th until June 6th when registration will cost $45.  The 10k price is $40 until May 9th and $45 May 10th until June 6th when registration will cost $50.

Join the JHP Art Gallery for an exhibition of works titled “Calling” created by Alexa Carson.

Alexa Carson’s paintings invoke the call of our wilderness– the call of the chickadee, the loon, the wolf. We are being called back to our natural spaces to reconnect with wildlife, and to reclaim our role as nature’s stewards.

Summer Hours: Wednesday – Saturday 10 am – 4 pm; Sunday 1-4 pm; Monday 10 am – 4 pm. CLOSED TUESDAYS

The exhibit runs through June 30.

Listen to this tiny but mighty instrument that brings a smile and makes toes tap with the beat. Did you know the word Ukulele is a Hawaiian word meaning ?leaping flea? so called from the rapid motion of the fingers in playing? Bring a snack or picnic lunch, lemonade will be provided. Warm up to the colorful music of the T.H.U.G.s at Trail Center for this special musical event.

The North Shore Music Association heads down the shore to host the acoustic-yet-electrifying Barley Jacks on June 8.

Performing original vocals and jaw-dropping instrumentals in a spirit of excitement and fun, these masters of the fiddle, guitar, bass, and drum meld their divergent backgrounds of blues and bluegrass, classical and Celtic, R&B and bebop and inspire each other to create something entirely new.

Frontman, fiddler, and mandolinist Brian Wicklund are joined by Mike Cramer, guitar; Keith Yanes, bass; and Joel Arpin, percussion. Virtuosity, magic, and a little danger combine to make every performance unique.

Tickets are $20 adults, $5 kids ages 18 & under. For sale at event only, cash or check. There will be ample seating, plus room to dance!
