Join the JHP Art Gallery for an exhibition of works titled “Calling” created by Alexa Carson.
Alexa Carson’s paintings invoke the call of our wilderness– the call of the chickadee, the loon, the wolf. We are being called back to our natural spaces to reconnect with wildlife, and to reclaim our role as nature’s stewards.

Through a unique, nationally recognized partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, resorts and other locations in Cook County host FREE, family-friendly naturalist programs Tuesdays – Saturdays all summer long.
Naturalist program topics range from bats, beavers, and wolves to moose, meteor strikes and wildflowers. Everyone is welcome to attend, even if you are just visiting for the day. No resort reservations are required to participate.

Children ages 2-5 are welcome to bring their families to Tettegouche State Park and enjoy a story, indoor and outdoor hands-on activities, and an art project with a Park Ranger. All programming is free of charge. All family members are welcome, activities are designed for children between the ages of 2 and 5. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Bees in Your Bonnet
Safely examine bees up close. Search for nectar-producing flowers to observe bees in the wild. Transform into a bee and learn a bee dance.

Gunflint Trail outfitters want to introduce families and anyone interested to the adventurous joys of canoeing in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness by asking visitors to “Wet Your Paddle.”
Outfitters are hosting an hour of free canoe paddling and will provide instruction if needed!
You may visit the outfitter of your choice during their selected hour of the program, but please call ahead to let them know you are coming.
Anyone coming outside of the allotted time slot will be charged normal rental fees.
