North Shore Events

Each small town celebrates nature, arts and history, the great outdoors, local and regional talents, holidays and community. And you’re invited to join in. This North Shore Calendar of Events lists all kinds of goings-on; guided hikes, 99-mile bike races, fine art exhibits, pie-eating contests, solstice celebrations, historical talks, workshops, classes, summer festivals, small town parades, and the annual lighting of Split Rock Lighthouse.

Grand Marais Harbor History tour

Location: Cook County History Museum

Event Description

This free tour begins at the History Museum in Grand Marais, Saturdays at 1 pm. Participants walk a short distance along the harbor to the Coast Guard Station with a tour guide.

You’ll learn about places of interest, visible relics, and the rich history of this small harbor and community. The tour lasts about 45 minutes.

*Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please note, tours are weather permitting.
