Each small town celebrates nature, arts and history, the great outdoors, local and regional talents, holidays and community. And you’re invited to join in. This North Shore Calendar of Events lists all kinds of goings-on; guided hikes, 99-mile bike races, fine art exhibits, pie-eating contests, solstice celebrations, historical talks, workshops, classes, summer festivals, small town parades, and the annual lighting of Split Rock Lighthouse.

Halloween Dance and Costume Contest

Time: 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Location: Grand Portage Lodge & Casino

Event Description

The Evening Stars are a funk/soul band that will bring great dance music from the 30’s to the 80’s who will be performing from 8pm to 11pm in the event center. At 10pm the band will conduct a costume parade consisting of the costumed performers who will be judged on creativity and originality.

Judges will determine the four (4) best costumes for cash prizes for the following prize categories: 1^st $150, 2^nd $100, 3^rd $75, 4^th $50. Costume contestants must be 21 years of age and need not be a Players Club member to win.
