summer events on the north shore

North Shore Events

Each small town celebrates nature, arts and history, the great outdoors, local and regional talents, holidays and community. And you’re invited to join in. This North Shore Calendar of Events lists all kinds of goings-on; guided hikes, 99-mile bike races, fine art exhibits, pie-eating contests, solstice celebrations, historical talks, workshops, classes, summer festivals, small town parades, and the annual lighting of Split Rock Lighthouse.

Bald Eagle Chicks Hatch

Date: May 5, 2023 - May 19, 2023

Time: All Day

Event Description

Bald eagles migrate back up the North shore in March, lay 1-3 eggs in April and incubate them for about five weeks. Chicks hatch mid-May. After three months, eaglets can fly, and after another month they leave the nest for good. Parents will return to the same nest for multiple years, so it is important for humans to not disturb the nests.
