Event Description

This community gathering and fundraiser supports the efforts of the Gunflint Trail Fire Department (GTFD) while bringing together residents and visitors to the Trail for Northwoods-style fun. Watch teams from Gunflint Trail outfitters compete for the Trail Cup Trophy and enjoy food served by the Gunflint Lodge culinary team.

Sales of Gunflint Trail Canoe Races T-Shirts, Sweatshirts, & Tumblers will be available online from May 19 – June 22, 2024. Benefit Raffle tickets and a limited number of shirts will be available a the races. All funds raised go toward supporting the Gunflint Trail Fire Department.

According to GTVFD Chief Jim Morrison: “The generous contributions of The Gunflint Trail community support our services. Our volunteer fire department has a contingent of 18 EMT’s and EMR’s, delivering emergency services all along the Gunflint Trail by personal vehicles and our ambulance.”

The Canoe Races have successfully served the Gunflint Trail for more than 40 years.
