Minnesota native Jason Owen Soderlund (Jason Owen Music) at the SILVER BAY LOUNGE! “I’m a lifelong music lover and have been playing guitar for more of my years than not. I’ve been playing guitar in bands for the better part of 15 years while living in Southern California and began performing on my own just about 4 years ago, which has fueled a much deeper personal enthusiasm within my musical journey.

My music choices have been deeply influenced by the many bands I’ve been in, with strongest impressions by the likes of Pink Floyd, Blackberry Smoke, Band of Heathens, Audioslave, and Maroon 5 as well as country artists such as Chris Stapleton, Tyler Childers, Jason Isbell, Jerry Jeff Walker, Sturgil Simpson, Old Crow Medicine Show, and David Allan Coe to name a few…

Aside from all things guitar, my greatest love within music might just be vocal harmony, which I believe perfectly embodies the idea of something being ‘greater than just the sum of its parts’. Throughout my life listening to music, I’ve found myself singing harmony parts along side vocal melodies I hear, almost unconsciously. I know of few greater musical pleasures than singing with others.

Additionally, I worked professionally as a guitar luthier for a guitar manufacturer during my years living in Los Angeles CA, and love to help other local guitarists with their guitar maintenance, repair and upgrade needs.”
