Pour it Forward: Wine Tasting with Purpose

Join the Cook County Community Fund (CCCF) advisory board on Tuesday, October 7th at the North House Folk School (NHFS) for a curated wine tasting complemented by a catered dinner from a local Grand Marais restaurant.

The Wine Tasting will kick off with a social hour while enjoying a sparkling aperitif. We will start the event with a welcome and introductions by our emcee followed by a welcome from the head of the NHFS. Next, we will spend a few minutes highlighting the great work Boreal Waters/CCCF does each year supporting local nonprofits and providing scholarships to graduating high school seniors.

Following introductions, we will move into the formal wine tasting and dining. This will be a guided tasting, featuring 3 red and 3 white wines of different grape varieties, showcasing a geographic range of California vineyards producing different styles of wines. Food service will be catered by Fisherman’s Daughter and will consist of charcuterie boards designed to specifically pair with the red and white wines. The boards will have a combination of fruits, wine/cheese/smoked fish. There will also be small sandwiches, two soups, and three bite sized desserts. Following the tasting, each guest will be offered a complimentary pour of their favorite wine of the evening. Coffee will be made available as we move to finish the event with a live auction.

Event Schedule

5:00 – 6:00 PM: Social time together while enjoying an aperitif
6:00 – 7:30 PM: Welcoming comments, followed by a guided tasting of 6 carefully selected wines, paired with foods from Fisherman’s Daughter
7:30 – 8:00 PM: Complimentary pour of your favorite tasted wine, with desserts/coffee served during the charity auction

Must be 21 to attend. Proceeds go to the Cook County Community Fund.
