Soaps & Salves Workshop at Tettegouche State Park

Event Description
In this workshop, participants will learn to make soap from fats and lye, just like in the old days. Additionally, we will use natural materials to create our own salves, suitable for dry skin, chapped lips, and even conditioning leather! We will be collecting some balsam polar buds for the salve, which will add additional skin protection as well as a lovely scent. No fees.
Lye is caustic and using it has risks. Safety protocols will be followed.
