Snowshoe Hike at Tettegouche

Date: January 24, 2025

Time: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Location: Tettegouche State Park

Event Description

Snowshoe Hike at Tettegouche – River ice conditions willing, join the Naturalist for a free, guided snowshoe hike to the Cascades of the Baptism River. This trek will be 1.5 miles, round-trip. Floods recently destroyed the summer trail to the Cascades, but given the right ice conditions and a seasoned guide, you’ll still able to safely visit these lovely waterfalls in the winter!

Loaner snowshoes will be available for those who need them, on a first-come first-served basis. Arrive early enough to get your snowshoes before the group leaves on the hike.

This event will be canceled if the air temperatures are below -10F or if the ice conditions on the Baptism are not navigable. Check the park’s online Events Calendar or call the park for updates as the date nears.
