Johnson Heritage Post Art Gallery | Grand Marais MN
Join the JHP Art Gallery for an amazing pottery show titled: Northerly Pots | The Long Pleasurable Carry – by Fritz Lehmberg of Early Snows Pottery.
The exhibit will feature many beautiful pottery pieces with the focus being on having handles.
The previous exhibit will still also be on display. The show runs from May 25 – June 17 with the Opening Reception on the 25 from 5-8 pm. There will also be extended hours through Memorial Weekend with the Gallery staying open until 5 pm.
The Gallery’s regular hours are: Monday – Saturday 10 am – 4 pm; Sunday 1 – 4 pm CLOSED Tuesdays.

11 am – noon :: Enjoy great views and discover falls history as you explore the Upper, Middle and Lower Falls. Don’t forget your camera. Majority of the hike will involve descending stairs on this 3/4 mile walk. Meet at the Visitor Center Art Column.
8 – 9 pm :: Animals leave behind clues that can tell us a great deal about the animal. Come and explore the park in a unique and interactive way that allows you to gather information about the hidden creatures of Gooseberry Falls. Try your luck in an inquiry based hunt for the elusive Bigfoot and see what you can learn about this legendary creature. Meet at Lady Slipper Lodge Amphitheater.

Voyageur Brewing Company | Grand Marais MN
Voyageur Brewing Company invites you to Voyage North this June 9th to participate in a run around Grand Marais, MN.
Participants will enjoy the scenic beauty of Lake Superior and the surrounding Sawtooth Mountains. There will be a 5k and 10k race both beginning in downtown Grand Marais and ending at Voyageur Brewing Company.
The race begins in the parking lot of the Coast Guard Station located at the end of Broadway Road. Runners will take a course of either 5k or 10k through the streets of Grand Marais, Minnesota. There will be two aide stations along the 10k route and the route will be well marked. The race finish will be at Voyageur Brewing Company located at 233 West Highway 61 in Grand Marais, MN. Participants will receive a t-shirt and enjoy a free pint of beer after the race.
The cost of the race if registered by May 9th is $30 for the 5k and $35 for the 10k. After May 9th the 5k price is $35 and the 10k price is $40.

The Cook County Historical Society is hosting an Open House at the Johnson Heritage Post – Art Gallery. Meet the new staff and board members, and learn about future plans for their historic sites and art gallery. All five sites will be open for visits: Lightkeeper’s House and Museum, Bally Blacksmith Shop, St. Francis Xavier Church, a 1930s fish house replica with fishing tug Neegee, in addition to refreshments and activities at the Heritage Post.
