Each small town celebrates nature, arts and history, the great outdoors, local and regional talents, holidays and community. And you’re invited to join in. This North Shore Calendar of Events lists all kinds of goings-on; guided hikes, 99-mile bike races, fine art exhibits, pie-eating contests, solstice celebrations, historical talks, workshops, classes, summer festivals, small town parades, and the annual lighting of Split Rock Lighthouse.

The Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) has been named as one of only 13 certified International Dark Sky Sanctuaries in the world! And at over a million acres, it is the largest.
